I really enjoyed this video! Wow, it is powerful. I first saw it on Simon Cad’s blog and decided to post it here also! Hope you guys like it as much as I did. You can also view it on YouTube.
An Affiliate Link is bascially a website address like www.createyourfirstdomain.com however affiliate links include information about who is responsible for that link, most importantly you, the affiliate. If a customer clicks on a link you’ve posted and ends up buying the product you end up getting credit for the sale and receiving a commission. The affiliate link lets the website owner know who to reward for promoting his product.
Let’s talk about Clickbank links, since they seem to be the easiest to promote for the beginner. You will need a Clickbank ID when you register. It’s up to you what ID you create. You will use that ID from clickbank no matter how many affiliate products you decide to promote. There are two ways to create personalized Affiliate Links…at clickbank an affiliate link is known as a Hoplink.
The most common way is to create your Hoplink automatically using the Clickbank Marketplace. When you have found the product you want to promote, just click the ‘Promote’ button to the right of the product listing and it will generate your personal Hoplink. Then you can copy the Hoplink address by highlighting it and pushing the “Ctrl” button and “c” button on your keyboard. Now, put your mouse in a blank .txt notepad file and hold Ctrl and “v” together. This will “paste” what you just copied into your new notes file. Now you can save the file on your desktop. You can copy the Hoplink address and paste it anywhere you want to promote the product!
My Clickbank ID is 4045863. So, an example of a clickbank Hoplink for me would be: http://4045863.VENDOR.hop.clickbank.net <<<this is not a genuine link, just an example. If you decide to create your link manually to make the HopLink work, you just replace VENDOR with the vendor’s ClickBank nickname. Some ClickBank vendors will have their nickname listed on their product website if they have a page for affiliates.
As a final note! Be sure to TEST THE HOPLINK so you’ll be comissioned for every sale you make! To test your HopLink to make sure it’s working correctly, you can either enter your HopLink directly into your browser’s address bar and hit Enter, or click on your HopLink directly if you’ve already posted it somewhere online. Once you’re on the vendor’s website, click their Buy Now button so you’re taken to the ClickBank order form. If you scroll to the bottom of the order form, you should see [affiliate=yournickname]. Mine would look like [affiliate=4045863].
This post is basically for the Newbie. The person who wants to start making money online and you have no idea where to start or what to do. It really does come down to 6 Simple Steps – This post is going to describe Step 1 – Finding a Product
1. Find a Product to Promote – Being an Affiliate can be a wonderful experience! There is no customer service, no inventory and no shipping of products involve. None of that to deal with. You are simply using a coded link that will send people to the personal or company that DOES have to deal with all of the things I mentioned above. If someone you referred to the site or person buys, you make a sale!
That’s all there is to it.
There is no such thing as THE PERFECT PRODUCT to promote. I am unconcerned with WHAT you promote as I just want to show you HOW to promote it.
You can choose to promote a product from Clickbank or anything you want – you just have to sign up to be an affiliate for whichever company you chose and get your affiliate link (it’s usually free to be an affiliate for most companies).
Let me use an example. For instance, if there is a hobby that you love, and you know a lot about it. There may be an affiliate program that you can join and get paid to promote it. However, for most of you, I recommend starting by promoting products from Clickbank.
ClickBank is the largest provider of digital products in the world. Publishers from all over the world list their eBooks on Clickbank to sell them and then people like you choose to promote them by being an affiliate.
Once you sign up for a free affiliate account with Clickbank (easy to do), you are qualified to promote any of their thousands and thousands of products. Once you’re a seasoned affiliate, you may wish to promote ALL of their products!
The commissions are HUGE. We’re talking, 50%… 60% … even 75% commission for a sale. This is the best part to their huge variety of digital products. And Clickbank pays like clockwork once you start making sales.
Now let’s talk about how to find that product on Clickbank you want to start with. Your first affiliate products! The easiest way is to use the “Marketplace” feature on their website. Some people like to use a site called cb-analytics.com. Go ahead and check out the site. There is a lot of stuff going on there. At the top are 3 lists of products that are grouped by different metrics of something Clickbank calls “gravity”. You’ll see Top Gravity, Top Gravity Gain, Total Top Gravity. Gravity is how Clickbank presents the popularity of a product.
If one unique affiliate sells ONE copy of their product in the last 8 weeks, that product is awarded ONE gravity point. If one unique affiliate sells ONE HUNDRED copies of their product in the last 8 weeks, that product is still only awarded ONE gravity point. So, for example, if a product has a gravity of 250, that simply means that 250 unique affiliates have made at least ONE sale of that product in the last 8 weeks.
Gravity can tell you 2 important things:
1. How well other affiliates are converting that product into a sale, and
2. How many other affiliates you are going to be competing with in making a sale.
I try to promote products that have a gravity of at least 32, but I stay away from products that are being promoted by HUNDREDS of affiliates as your sales will likely be less because of the competition. So if you’re a beginning/newbie…stay away from the HUGE gravity numbers. Those are more than likely being promoted by what we Super Affiliates. The seasoned, know-every-trick-in-the-book affiliates that are hard to compete with.
I’ll write about Step 2 – Getting Your Affiliate Link!

If you want to enter the affiliate marketing world, you need to have the persistence and know-how to reach your goals. Once you’ve made up your mind and set your goals, it’s time to make your presence known on the Internet. If you’re ready, you’ll need to learn how by finding a good step-by-step guide from someone who has been in your exact shoes, someone who started from scratch, who made up his or her mind, and took that first step. But before you even do that, you need to decide these first steps:
Find a Niche or Use your Passion
The Internet does make it possible to sell to the entire world, but don’t make the mistake of thinking the world is your client. Keep in mind and remember, in affiliate marketing, less is definitely more. In other words, find a niche and build a reputation within that niche. Don’t try to be everything to everybody. First, find a special area and get good at promoting it. As you grow your business and build up a list of prospective clients, then you may consider promoting products in another niche market. When you first begin, you want to be competitive, and you can’t do that if you spread yourself too thin.
Trying to do too much at once for a beginning market is a surefire way to burn out. Your first task should be to learn the basics. Once you’ve learned the ropes, then you can add more niches to your lineup of products.
Conduct Keyword Research
Before you start going crazy with websites, adwords, and other marketing efforts, do your research. You’ll want to know the popular keywords and search phrases for your niche so you can incorporate them into your website or domain. The Google Keyword Tool is a great way to start. Whether you’re looking for descriptive words and phrases or content, this tool will give you the information you need to develop your web content. And it’s free.
Try Being Different
Show who you really are! Let your personality be known. Be different. Often, the “fun” sites are most popular sites. Have fun with your niche.
Be Organized
Make sure that your website is easy to navigate. If someone lands on your website and can’t figure where to go, they’ll quickly click off the site. Keep your site user-friendly, and you’ll get more repeat traffic.
Finally, steer clear of bells and whistles. Avoid website clutter, and it will be a better experience for everyone. You want to keep your visitors coming back.
The First Step is the Hardest
Succeeding in affiliate marketing is not just about the big picture. It’s about taking small steps toward your destination. But you have to take that first step. Start small and move toward a single goal to begin with. As the profits roll in and you learn a few basic rules for success, you can gradually build the affiliate marketing empire you’ve always dreamed of. Once your empire is built, you’ll have passive income that will last for years. = Bliss!

A lot has been said about list building and internet marketing. One thing most coaches leave out is finding out what your clients want and need . It’s actually probably the most important step when it comes to Online Marketing.
If you aren’t finding a need, you’re really not going to get very far in your efforts to make money online. This has to be done before product development, before marketing, before find an affiliate product, before anything. You have to be able to supply what people want and need. If you don’t, you’re wasting time and resources.
Let’s say that it’s around March or April. You know that people are shopping for Easter Products at this time. You decide to launch an Easter based product, or made a special Easter sale. You realize that there are people on the Net with a want and money to spend. You provide the wanted item, and make money. That’s the essence of how to go about finding a need.
It’s all about target traffic. As I just said, you have people browsing the Net that are “just browsing,” and then you have people that are actually shopping. Obviously, you want the ones who are spending money. Finding what they want or need is the first part of targeting your traffic. You don’t care about the guy browsing, you want the guy ready to buy.
Of course, the process of finding a need is a bit more complicated than just knowing that Easter (or any holiday or special occasion) is coming up, so you should develop an Easter line. It takes a bit of market analysis. Let’s say that you have this brilliant idea for a launch. Let’s say that it’s a line of instruction manuals on how to do something specific.
The first thing you do in finding a need is condense this whole idea into as few words as possible. Now you can take this to your keyword tool. Plug your words into your keyword search tool and let’s see what happens. Your keyword tool will kick out every (more or less) current combination of your keyword and how often it got hit.
Based on this analysis, can you say that by doing this search that you’re finding a need? A want? If you’re not, perhaps there’s some variation on your keywords that will actually hit higher than your original version. It can be a boring process, but sticking through with it will pay off in the end.
Now that you’re done finding a need, you can begin making your instruction manuals, or finding an affiliate product to promote for whatever need you see out there. You can then move on to pricing and marketing and everything else. But this is how we begin.
Once you have the wants and needs of your potential clients, and have your manual, ebook, or product in place, you can start building your list of potential buyers=Bliss!
